Hi there! I’m Noah Durunna, a proud transgender Black man and a therapist who’s passionate about helping folks navigate life’s twists and turns with creativity, compassion, and a little bit of playfulness. At Therathrive, I bring a person-centered, strength-based approach to my work, which means I’m all about celebrating you—your unique story, your strengths, and your goals.
My Approach
I believe therapy doesn’t have to be serious all the time (though it can be when needed!). That’s why I love incorporating play and art therapy into my sessions. Whether we’re doodling, exploring sand trays, or using games to unpack big feelings, I’m here to create a space where you can feel safe, seen, and maybe even have a little fun along the way.
As an associate therapist, I’m always learning and growing, because let’s face it life is always changing, and so are we. I’m committed to staying curious, honing new skills, and adapting to meet the ever evolving needs of my clients.
So, if you’re looking for a therapist who’s warm, affirming, and maybe a little quirky, let’s connect! Together, we’ll explore, create, and uncover the tools you need to thrive—just as you are.
My Experience and Education
Over the years, I have developed extensive experience in school-based therapy, individual and group counseling, and art therapy techniques. My experience includes providing therapeutic support to students, and working in a school setting creating individualized treatment plans in collaboration with families and school staff.
My work history as a Clinical Coordinator with Golden Star Home Care honed my organizational and patient care management skills. These experiences have strengthened my ability to connect with diverse populations and provide evidence based, empathetic care.
I received my Master of Science degree in Counseling from Prescott College in Prescott, Arizona. Currently, I am furthering my education by pursuing an Art Therapy Certificate at Prescott College. As part of this program, I will be conducting research for my capstone project on the therapeutic benefits of tabletop role-playing games like Dungeons & Dragons (D&D). This research underscores my commitment to using creative, innovative approaches to foster growth and healing in clients.
I am a Registered Associate Professional Clinical Counselor (APCC #9706), and am working towards completing my hours to become licensed as an LPCC. I am currently being supervised by TheraThrive’s Clinical Director, Katie Malone, LMFT, LPCC.
